There will be times during the life of your portal when a customer calls with a charge and there is not a order easily identifiable with the card holder's name. Most often is the case is that the charge is under the spouse's name or a child's name.
If presented with this situation there are definitely ways to identify the charge. The first step is to confirmation the charge in the Forte terminal.
Start by clicking on the Nav Menu item "Transactions".
From here there a couple different ways to find the specific charge.
- Select last 4 and in the search box enter the last 4 of the credit card.
- Select last name and search the last name of the customer. Although they weren't the customer associated with the order, the card holder will always be the name associated with the charge.
- If it isn't generic, try search the "amount." Make sure that you do not include a $ sign though.
Once you find the charge in Forte, you've verified the existence of it.
Next, in GeoTix head to reporting. Under the reporting you will see the Sales report. Go ahead and select the Sales report and check the payment method check box. When you pull the report, you'll notice that all credit card transactions have the last 4 recorded. Simply use the control find function to identify the matching credit card.
