Gift Cards allow you to sell credit to your organization via a gift card code that can then be redeemed by any customer using that code at checkout. Gift Cards are not tied to the ticket buyer's email address so the code is transferrable from one customer to another. However, the credit will only be redeemable to ticket purchases to your organization.
Navigate to the Promote tab in the main navigation and click on the Gift Cards card.
Click the +Add a Gift Card button to begin configuring your gift card.
In the window that appears, name your gift card, specify a customer cost and customer dollar value,choose any events that should be excluded from this gift card, and toggle the gift card to online.
- Name - What will display to the customer when they purchase the gift card
- Customer Cost - What the customer will pay for the gift card at the time of purchase
- Customer Dollar Value - The amount of credit the customer will receive to your organization for the gift card
- Events to Exclude - Any events for which tickets cannot be purchased using a gift card
- Available Online - When toggled on, your gift card will be listed on your customer-facing organization page
Click Next after configuring these settings.
Next, set the dates and times that your gift card will be available for purchase as well as the dates and times that the credit from the gift card will be redeemable. The Sales Start and End dates determine when your gift card will be available for purchase online, provided that you have toggled the gift card to sell online. The Valid From and Through dates determine when the credit associated with a purchased gift card is redeemable to ticket purchases for your organization. Click Next to continue.
Finally, write a brief description for the gift card. The description will display in the Gift Card listing to customers on your organization page. Click Save Gift Card to create your gift card.
Your gift card will now appear in the Gift Cards list for your organization where you can manage its availability, edit or delete it, and export a usage report.
If you have toggle the gift card to be available online and your Sales Date Range includes the current day, your gift card will also be listed under the Gift Cards tab of your customer-facing organization page.
Gift cards can be purchased in a custom amount when an order is processed through the admin. Follow the first few steps in the Process an Order article and choose Gift Card as the item rather than Event to process an order for a custom Gift Card.
