Email Broadcasts allow you to communicate directly with the ticket buyers for a specific event either in advance or after the event has happened. These communications are strictly informational. If you are looking to send out marketing content to people who have previously purchased a ticket from you, check out our Mailchimp integration which allows you to export your customers' email addresses to a third-party email marketing platform.
Navigate to the Emails tab in the main navigation and click the green "+" button to open the email broadcast creation workflow.
An email broadcasts can be either an event reminder for an upcoming event or an event follow up for an event that has already occurred. From the Events dropdown, select the event for which you'd like to create an email broadcast.
After selecting an event, create a nickname for your communication so it is easily referencable from your email broadcasts list. Then select either event reminder or event follow up for the Type of email and use the date and time selection dropdown to schedule your communication.
Once your email broadcast has been configured and saved, you will have the option to Force Send the communication rather than waiting for the date & time you've selected.
Now it's on to the contents of your email. Enter a subject line, set a send-from email address, add a salutation if you'd like, and then type the contents of your communication in the Editable Contents field.
Once your email broadcast has been configured and saved, you will be able to Preview your communication or send Test emails to addresses of your choosing.
Click Save Changes to save your email broadcast. Now that your email broadcast is saved, select it from your email broadcasts list to toggle it live and view additional options.
You've already set a date and time for your email broadcast to be sent but you still need to select the Active for Broadcast toggle to ensure your email sends. This is a final check to ensure communication isn't sent on accident.
On the right side of the email broadcast configuration workflow there is an Actions menu that allows you to preview your communication, send a test email, or force send to the ticket buyers of the event you've selected.
- Preview Email - Click the Preview Email button to see a sample of the communication that your ticket buyers will receive.
- Test Email - Enter a valid email address and click the Test Email button to send a sample of the communication to the address you've specified. Enter multiple comma-separated email addresses to send to multiple people at once.
- Force Send Now - Click the Force Send Now button to override the Send Date & Time you've specified for the communication. Note that the Active for Broadcast toggle will still need to be activated in order for you to force send your email.
