A Ticket Package gives ticket buyers an option to purchase tickets for multiple events for a special price. This is a helpful feature if you are trying to sell a "Season Ticket" or any special deal that includes more than one event.
Ticket packages are presented to customers as a number of "Ticket Groups", and users must then select one event from all or some of the available groups. These selections will then make up the ticket package.
Before making a Ticket Package, all of the events that are to be included in the Ticket Package must already be created.
To make a Ticket Package, you must define a number of ticket groups. To understand this idea of a "Ticket Group", let us consider the case of the Theater and their Season Ticket package...
Every season the Theater puts on four different major productions, and each production is performed five times. The Theater wants to offer customers a "Season Ticket" option. With this option, the customer will need to pick one performance for each of the four productions during the season.
The Theater will need to create a Ticket Package called "Season Tickets". The package will need a Ticket Group for each production. Each Ticket Group will include the five events for each of the productions. This customer will be asked to select one performance from each of the four Ticket Groups to complete their purchase of the Season Ticket package.
Now that you have an example of how Ticket Groups work, let's create Ticket Package.
Registration questions are not asked of ticket package buyers. Email support to find out the best way to set up your event(s).
To start making a package, navigate to the Organization's page and select "Promote" from the left side menu.
One of the options presented in the "Promote" section should be "Ticket Packages". Click on the tile.
There will be a space for a table that lists any existing packages. This is where one can edit packages after they have been created. To create a new package, look to the side or below the list of packages for the "+ Add a Package" button.
The first step of creating a ticket package is the "Settings". Here you can give the package a Name, a Description, set the Total Price of the package, choose whether Fees are displayed or hidden, and select the period of time the package should be available for sale (Start/End Dates).
The "Ticket Qty" determines how many tickets are included for each event selected in the package.
There are three different types of ticket packages available:
- Select All: the customer will choose an event from all of the ticket groups available in the package.
- Select Partial: the customer will choose an event from X ticket groups available. The "X" is determined by the "Selections Available" option (under "Ticket Qty" when "Select Partial" is chosen).
- Flex (advanced): the customer will receive a voucher for X events that can be used anytime to redeem tickets to events included in the package (only available to be sold by an admin via "add order").
Once the Settings are set, select "Next" to move on to setting up "Ticket Groups".
The Total Price of the ticket package must be lower than the lowest possible cost of the individual tickets that can be selected in the package.
As described above, Ticket Groups are collections of events from which a customer is to pick one event. The number of Ticket Groups you create will determine the maximum number of events that could be included in the package. Remember that "Select All" packages will be required to pick one event from each group, and then "Select Partial" is an option to pick events from some number of the groups that are created.
To start the first group, click the "Add Ticket Group" button. This will bring up options to select an event, ticket type, and ticket price (see image below). Once you have added all of the ticket types for all of the events you would like available in the first group, click "Save" and continue to add as many groups as you would like to offer in the package. The new Ticket Group will appear in the list with an option to edit or delete the group as needed.
Once Ticket Groups are ready, clicking next will lead to the final step of choosing the delivery method for the purchased tickets. These are all the same options available for regular ticket sales. You can find more information on Delivery Methods here.
After selecting all of the relevant delivery methods, the "Next" button will save the package and show the completed package. It is recommended that you review the settings and make any changes necessary. Be sure to click "Save Changes" at the bottom of this page, and then you will return to the list of ticket packages for the organization.
When a customer is viewing an event that is included in a package, there will be a button on the right side of the "Event Details" section (see below). This will take the customer to a list of any packages that include the event as well as details about the cost, ticket quantity, and total number of events in the package.
