The Additional Fees feature is available for all portals for collecting sales tax and any other fees that are to be added to all orders. These fees are chategorized as those which will be paid to the portal and those which are paid to the organizations.
Add a Sales TaxClick on the "+ Add Additional Fee" button (see image above). Note that the first option is a drop down menu and ensure the Type selected is “Sales Tax”. Enter a name, which will appear next to the sales tax subtotal on receipts. Enter the tax rate, noting that a number entered here will become percent. For example, entering the number 6.25 will create a sales tax of 6.25%. Click to save the sales tax and it is added to your portal’s Additional Fees. If it does not appear after the page updates try refreshing the page again.
Add a Portal FeeClick on the "+ Add Additional Fee" button in the expanded Additional Fees card. Note that the first option is a drop down menu and ensure the Type selected is “Portal Fee”. The two buttons will offer the choice of a percent fee or and flat rate fee (as is selected in the image below). For a dollar amount fee simply enter the amount in dollars. If it is a percent fee then a number entered will become a percent. For example, entering the number 6.25 will create a fee rate of 6.25%. Click to save the fee and it is added to your portal’s Additional Fees. Enter a name, which will appear next to the sales tax subtotal on receipts and then select "Add Portal Fee" to save the fee.
Activating Addtional Fees in Organizations
To view the additional fees available in an organization, navigate to the organization list and click on the organization which will then load the organization settings page. Look for the card that says “Fees” and expand it to view the available additional fees for the organization. An organization user cannot toggle the fees on or off when accessing their own organization settings. Portal fees can only be turned on and off in organization settings by portal users.When an additional fee is added to a portal it will be visible in the settings for all organizations. For existing organizations any new sales taxes will initially be set to off and all new portal fees are turned on by default. Similarly, when a new organization is created sales taxes are turned off and all portal fees are turned on by default. See an example of the expanded "Fees" card in an organization's settings.
